Case Studies

Egyptian Embassy

In October 2017, BMC Security were recommended by a former client to the Egyptian Ambassador to London, who was seeking a professional security company to secure an event being held to commemorate the 44th Egyptian Armed Forces Day.

Meeting with the Consulate General, we ascertained the need to initiate searches upon arrival, including a metal detecting arch. Understanding the sensitivity to guests expectations, extreme diplomacy was required.

Leading the team personally, a team of seven guards were provided, two with military experience. Searches were conducted by male and female guards alike, myself as first contact, meeting guests and explaining necessary requirements, with two guards on static positions.

The event was a huge success and BMC Security have been engaged in further events for the Embassy.

Spirit of Tiki Festival

Spirit of Tiki was conceptualised by Georgi Radev and Roger Barnes, leading experts in the tiki and rum industries. Together, they created Spirit of Tiki, with the aim of educating brands and consumers about tiki the exciting way – through taste, smell, sight, sound and feel!

Wanting to promote their love for rum and the Tiki lifestyle, Georgi and Roger set up stage in London’s Regents Park Crescent, offering branded rum stalls, Tiki art and crafts, hula dancers, street food, DJ’s and live performance from 2005 X-Factor runner up Andy Abraham.

The festival was arranged over two days with a joint guest expectation in the region of 5,000 between the times of 12:00-22:00.

A team of twelve guards were provided throughout the day with two overnight guards to secure equipment.

Being a cocktail festival, all guards were required to be constantly vigilant of intoxicated guests and inappropriate behaviour. During live performances, the artist and stage were secured.

Durrant vs Yacoubi ISKA World Super-Middleweight Kickboxing Title Fight

1st December 2018 ‘The Big Fight UK’ presented champion versus champion at the Queen Mother Sports Centre. ISKA World Light- Heavyweight champion Jon Durrant (England) challenged ISKA World Super-Middleweight champion Mondhor Yacoubi (France) for his 78kg Kickboxing title.

A team of eight guards were selected to secure the event. Two guards were positioned on the front entrance controlling ingress and queues. Although the event had pre-sold tickets, there were tickets available to purchase on the door.  One guard, therefore, was positioned on the cash desk monitoring payment and helping to issue wrist bands to V.I.P.’s.

Four guards were required to secure each corner of the ring, making sure guests remained at a safe distance and as a visible deterrent. A further two guards were placed on static positions, one on the fire exit and one in the bar area.

The event was a huge success and congratulations went to Mondhor Yacoubi for keeping his world championship title.

Private Performance of Stefflon Don

BMC Security were approached by a Dutch music production company that specialises in building brands through the power of music.

They had the task of setting up a private performance of London Rapper Queen, Stefflon Don, at JD Sports flagship branch on Oxford Street, who in turn would advertise clothes giant Puma during her performance.

Discussing the possible risks with the promoter and likely press coverage, we provided seven guards for the event, which included two close protection officers for the protection of the artist upon arrival and to and from the dressing room. Two guards secured stage left and right while a further three guards controlled ingress and egress.

The event ran smoothly and to plan, with no issues or threats to the artist.

Guy Ritchie’s ‘The Gentleman’ Film Premiere After Party

As Guy Ritchie's security provider, BMC Security proudly secures the cast and crew of Mr. Ritchie's latest London gangster movie, The Gentleman, as guests arrive for the premiere after party at his Fitzrovia pub, Lore of the Land.

Guests included Jason Statham and wife Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Hugh Grant and his wife Anna Elisabet Eberstein , Sting with wife Trudie Styler and daughter Coco Sumner, Michelle Dockery and fashionista Ted Baker, along with Guy Ritchie himself, wife Jacqui and son Rocco.

Receiving guests personally as their cars pulled up outside the venue’s entrance, car doors were opened and guests ushered passed the paparazzi and into the main bar. Securing the main entrance, guests and venue were priority as a team of six were positioned strategically inside and outside of the prestigious bar.

The evening was a huge success and the proud director and his family were escorted back to their Fitzrovia dwellings.

Securing Soho’s Pedestrianised Area & Al-Fresco Dining

Recovering from London’s first lockdown in July 2020 and lasting until September 2021, BMC Security were approached by Westminster City Council and Soho Estates, forming the Soho Business Alliance, with the proposal to secure and man traffic barriers in and around the Soho area, with the aim to restrict all vehicle access.

Local restaurants and bars were issued licences by Westminster Council to allow chairs and tables to be set up on the roads, helping their business survive while Covid-19 rules prevented indoor gatherings.

Deploying an eight-man team, five marshals took static positions on barriers preventing non-authorised vehicles, while two marshals and a supervisor patrolled the area offering assistance when needed. Any HGV with authorisation would be checked and escorted through the area by the supervisor.

The project was hailed as innovative and subsequently introduced in other London Boroughs.

Henley Royal Regatta

June 2022 brought us the Royal Henley Regatta, where Guy Ritchie's acclaimed Fitzrovia pub and restaurant, Lore of the Land, took up residence on the bank of the River Thames for the Henley Royal Regatta.

Food was based on their Fitzrovia menu (featured in the Michelin Guide) with Head Chef, Ali Borer, serving Asado Lamb and other delicious plates taken from Mr. Ritchie’s very own Ashgrove Farm in Wiltshire.

Beer from the Gritchie Brewing Company was served from their transportable horse box along with evening entertainment including House of Angels and The London Disco Society.

A team of eight guards were deployed, staying on site for the entirety of the event, securing guests, VIP’s and the incredible all female London group, House of Angels. A K9 unit secured the equipment overnight.

Vegandale London 2024

Originating from Canada, the Vegandale Festival is an annual all-vegan event that brings together DJ’s, food vendors, musicians and art enthusiasts. The festival aimed to showcase the moral imperative of a world free from animal exploitation while providing attendees with an unparalleled vegan experience.

BMC Security were instructed to secure London's first all vegan music festival held on Clapham Common for a two day event in July 2024.

A two-man team was required to control the load in and load out of equipment along with the arrival and departure of the event vendors, with one patrolling guard and a dog unit overnight.

For event days, twenty five security were positioned throughout the area, eight positioned on entrance, searching all guests and bags, six as response teams and a further eight on static positions. Three supervisors were available to assist the teams and guests.

The event was a huge success with guests dining and dancing throughout the day and evening.
